The most recent report, met with the specialist on Friday and had a great visit. Highlights from that meeting:
Diagnostics show that I’m holding off any further damage to my liver with all my changes. This is great news to validate that the changes I’ve made are working. Going in I was concerned about my A1C and glucose being high, 6%, but it’s down from over 10% – so greatly improved! Bile salts were also elevated, and I have a new Rx for that that I begin today. But all my other metrics have improved and were essentially in the normal range.
I’m still struggling with a few issues that are normal. I’ve plateaued on my weight loss at about 60 lbs. for the last few weeks I’ve lost and gained the same 2 lbs. In discussing this with the doctor, she suggested a semi-glutide, which I haven’t needed, to push me over the line with the remaining 40 lbs. or so. I’ll let y’all know what I decide.
I’ve also been dealing with back pain that the doctor does not believe is associated with my condition. So I’ll have to seek answers with my PCP. More to come.
And finally, my blood pressure has been low after losing over 20% of my body mass , so adjusting my BP meds is underway.
Overall great work and progress, I will have another eight weeks follow up and more consultation by April, where I hope to have met my weight goal of 185.
Stay the course!
